Senior Software Engineer (Data Mining – Back-end systems)
Job Description:

The candidate will be in charge of designing and developing scalable data mining components for a growing multi-media Internet marketing network.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of an organization that is shaping the future look and feel of interactive media and television. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to take a critical position building out and operating a deployed infrastructure.

Technology Experience Required:

  • 8+ years in development of scalable data mining environments for multiple terabytes of data from high traffic websites.
  • 6+ years with Data modeling
  • Proven experience with developing scripts or software to process and load large datasets (1GB+ per hour).
  • Understanding how to architect a scalable and reliable data load process
  • Knowledge of 3d-party data load and data cleansing software
  • Advanced knowledge of MySQL or Oracle or similar RDBMS
  • Fluent in one or more programming languages C, C++, Java, Ruby or Python
  • Deep understanding of OO technology and implementation techniques ('patterns')
  • Proven analytical / problem solving ability
  • Good working knowledge of Linux
  • Understanding of systems development lifecycle process
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience with other Omniture, Webtrends or other commercial web analytics product.
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies, Macromedia FCS / FMS / Windows Media / QuickTime
  • Experience RHES v4/5 and/or CentOS v4/5

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Required to be flexible, detail oriented and organized with the ability to multitask and work independently

Education:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred
    (Comparable experience is acceptable)
